Abbott art may be the focus of the weekend, but the Edina Art Fair has more to offer visitors: music, food and child-friendly activities. The festival attracts more than 250 artists and exhibitors, who present a wide range of works by artists from all over the world as well as local artists. And as if that wasn't enough, Edina is also home to several institutions that offer their residents a variety of art experiences.

For Edina artists, another resource, Art Edinburgh, is a program that helps established and emerging artists to show their art publicly. Founded in 2004, the group of resident and professional artists advises the Edina Arts and Culture Commission on the communication of art in public space. In addition to curated exhibitions, works from a wide range of media are on display, working with different media such as ceramics, photography, painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography.

The city understands that a thriving arts community is important for its well-being. To prove this, the city hosts two major outdoor art festivals each year. The Edina Fall Arts Festival is a fundraiser for Edinburgh's Crime Prevention Fund and takes place every second Saturday of the month from October to November in the city centre.

The Edina Art Fair was named one of the 10 most important art fairs in North America by the New York Times. The event was widely praised by the national media and rated as the first art fair of the year, according to the National Arts Council.

Since its foundation in 1966, the Edina Art Fair has expanded to include over 300 artists from all over the world. What started with a few craftsmen from the corner has grown into a three-day event that welcomed more than 1,000 artists, artisans, galleries, dealers and collectors from around the country.

This year's outdoor festival was held under the motto: "Empowering Artistic Females." This theme provides an opportunity to showcase the creativity of women artists at the fair, but it also highlights the importance of women entrepreneurs and their role in the art world. It is only fitting that almost 70% of artists are female entrepreneurs.
