I play in a rock band, talk on the radio, and work with kids. I work all the time, but I love everything I do. I don't think anything in life is more important than being truly happy. Which can sometimes sound selfish, but in the grand scheme of things, isn't everything selfish??

With that being said, I try to do things with my life that make me happy.

Also, I really like baseball. A lot.

I was born in California, raised in Colorado, but have now spent ten winters in Minnesota. I maintain that counting winters should be the only measure of time here. I've done a lot of studying here, and a little working. I've tried to leave more than once...but it seems Minnesota isn't done with me yet. The really strange thing is....after winter number seven, I actually started to love it here:)

Well, I like to think that I'm a pretty ordinary guy. I've just graduated from college and now have a fancy piece of paper the certifies how smart I am. I can be very optimistic, and also very cynical. I really do not believe that I am easily placed into any stereotypical category, and try to cultivate an interest in a wide variety of areas.

I really enjoy a great many things. I've always been very interested in and appreciative of art, though I'm not very good at it myself. I love writing, and wish I had a bit longer of an attention span so that I could actually commit to finishing one of the many stories I've begun over the years. I did extemp. speech in high school, and thought that was pretty fun, and as a result don't really have any fear of public speaking, and I'm always down for a friendly debate. I also had some classical voice training during high school, although I haven't kept up with it much these past few years (I'd like to get back in to singing though). The last few years I've been taking a lot of science courses in preparation for the MCAT. I've really come to love science (as long as it doesn't require me to do much calculus level math), with biology/medicine probably being my favorites (next to psychology, of course).

I like to think of myself as being a very empathetic person, sometimes even too empathetic for my own good. Despite my award of being "less compassionate" I tend to go out of my way to help people out if I'm able. If you're close to me I will go above and beyond in supporting and assisting you in whatever way you need. I think honesty is very important, but I also understand and respect the role of privacy in every person's life. Total and complete honesty is a nice ideal, but may be a little unrealistic. White lies are bound to occur now and then, and there will always be some items that one would rather keep private. Those big lies? I don't understand why people bother with them, to be honest. Way too much effort goes in to coming up with the lie, remembering which lie you told to who, and keeping the lie going to make it practical (much less ethical). It all seems like it would be very stressful.

Above all, I hope to always keep learning, and to never stop improving myself. There is too much brilliance and wonder in this world to ever have an excuse to be bored, or to ever go a single day without learning at least 1 new thing.

I am a mess of contradictions is the easiest way to sum me up. I love metal and hard rock. I'll wear my grungiest clothes and go into a mosh pit, in fact I have on several occasions. But the next week I'll put on a some what formal dress and go the Opera where I often times tear up if it's a good one. I love spicy powerful flavor combinations but also love a good subtle mix of flavors. In public I'm well-behaved, polite, and don't swear much, the kind of girl you would take home to meet the family. In bed, not so much, but you get the idea, lol. I love history, culture and learning about new things and people. I feel the best way to do that is through their food. I can sing along with the Mothra song, which my son loves, lol. I know all the words to On a Boat, which will never come in handy but it's a good song none the less. I think Vermillion by Slipknot is a really good romantic song. Oh, I can also tell you how to use a Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, because that's what every one should know.

I'm into simple living, progressive politics, bicycling, and having fun.

I like to exercise. I enjoy swimming laps in Lake Nokomis in the warm weather. I enjoy touring (bike camping), the outdoors. I work for a local animal protection group that I co-founded, and that's really important to me. I'm very passionate about animal protection, but I'm also grounded. I have a big extended family in the Cities that I love. I know a lot of people and have lots of friends, but I love to meet more and make stronger connections. I'm outgoing and friendly in smaller groups or one-on-one.

What to say....I love my friends and family,they are the most important things in my life. I love to laugh and tend to have an obscure sense of humor (the only one in the room laughingâ??yeah that's me!) I love to have fun. My friends and I know how to throw a hell of a party! The older I get the more I feel like just staying home with a movie and popcorn (best with someone to cuddle with!). I love to be around people, almost to a fault when I'm single I tend to be out a lot more than when I have someone to stay home with! These days I'm perfectly content to spend a saturday night at home cooking a new dish for close friends and sipping on "beverage of choice". The bar scene has gotten old and I could do without that for the most part. I tend to consider myself an extrovert, but with a very deep, thoughtful side. I am fiercely loyal to my friends and family, and expect the same in return. It takes me a while to open up and trust people, but once I do you've got a friend for life! On the same page though, if you cross me, I'm not likely to forget (but I always try to forgive)!

I love animals, in particular, dogs! I don't have any kids but my dog, Riley, pretty much fills that role. The dog park has become one of our favorite places to visit (weather permitting). I am constantly reinventing myself, and am deeply committed to self improvement I care a lot about being healthy and staying fit. I'm very physically active and play a lot of basketball. I also enjoy weightlifting, yoga, tai chi, circuit training, and biking. I've explored most of the bike trails where I live and I love the Greenway. I used to go hiking and explore the nature trails but I have not done that since I moved closer to the city.

I am a third year medical student at the University of Minnesota. My undergrad degree was in electrical engineering. Its interesting how life doesn't always work out the way you planned. I finished high school in two years, but spent six years as an undergrad. I worked as a teaching assistant for talented high schoolers for five years and I enjoy teaching. I'm a very easy going guy. I work in technology which takes up alot of my time. I really enjoy playing my guitar and making music in my free time. Hi there, essentially, I'm interested in expanding the circle of men that I know. I recently graduated from a college where casual dating didn't really exist. Couples were either practically married or too terrified to actually ask someone on a date because 50 people would be instantly invested in the relationship. I'd like to be liberated from that mentality.

As far as my self summary, I guess I would describe myself as a very down to earth person who has completely unrealistic goals, if that makes any sense. I'm always eager to experience new things and places, even if it's as simple as trying a new coffee shop or listening to new music.

Laughter is a big part of my life and I've become a master at finding the humor in adjusting to the city, such as getting towed because my parents park my car in a naughty place, hilarious! I have a wonderful family and friends that I greatly value. I consider myself very lucky in life because of the people I know. I grew up on a farm in Iowa, and moved to Minnesota for college. I wouldn't trade my rural upbringing for anything.

I like puns and word plays and often dress up as cliches, phrases, abstract ideas, etc. for Halloween.

Since generalizing is difficult I'll go for some specific things I enjoy: Good beer, cooking, walking around the lakes, getting drinks with friends, not eating meat, rapping at karaoke, admiring architecture, drumming, watching storms come in, pick-up games, hiking, bonfires, history and thinking about/learning/discussing why people/cultures/societies work the way they do.

Hello there! Has it been two years since I last updated my self-summary? Well, not much has changed. At the time of this writing, I'm 36 (YIKES! When did that happen?) and living near Uptown, Minneapolis. I have two kick-ass cats but that does NOT make me "the cat guy." I'm pretty independent but am at the point where sharing my life with someone is pretty high on my list of priorities. I would love to be able to travel more and have someone to do it with.

I don't know. I'd like to say I'm unique, but who doesn't think that about themselves? I'm pretty sure I know who I am and what I like, and that's good enough for me.
...Some basic things about me are that I am a real easygoing person. I am also funloving and love to laugh and laugh with others. I have an incredibly sarcastic and witty sense of humor at times, and I find just about anything funny (seriously). I wouldn't describe myself as a quiet person although at times it could seem that I am. I just don't always want to talk to some people. Sue me. But by NO means am I loud or brash. I'm crazily mellow and I just like to go with the flow of things. In most everyday situations I would consider myself pretty laid back, "real" and honest.

But I am usually pretty nice, I love to have a good time laughing with my friends, movies are AWESOME, I really dig listening to music, I like playing old school Nintendo games, driving around town in my 1980 Buick Century (lovingly nicknamed "The Brown Beast",) and chuckling at funny client names at work (my personal favorite is Long Nob -- gets me everytime.)

It really is hard to sum up yourself in one paragraph, isn't it. The main thing I can say about myself is that I'm loyal, kind and delightfully offbeat. I've spent most of my life in the country. I love riding motorcycles(still working on getting my own) and watching the Green Bay Packers. I play video games and one of my favorite things is picking a random direction and walking for about an hour just to see where I end up. Love the outdoors. hunting, fishing, camping, pretty much any excuse to get out of the cities for a couple of days.

I work a normal 9-5 live on my own...in my free time I like to do alot of things remix music, Its a passion of mine. Sorta a strange nack I suppose with sampling artists, chill out with a good movie, (which includes everything from drama to action to comedies. kick back with my xbox 360... So after re-reading my profile, I realized I sounded highly generic. I am a lover of efficiency so I'm just going to write the highlights.

I'm one of those guys who, when he's walking around, looks like he's thinking about something but when you ask 'what are you thinking about?' he doesn't have anything to say. It's not because we aren't thinking about things, but giving you the whole back story of what we're thinking about would take way longer than the anecdote would be worth. Plus, you were probably just asking to be polite or to start a conversation, so you probably don't want to hear my new idea for a story or a comic strip. Rest assure they're great ideas, though.
For a while I thought it would be a great idea to unionize the homeless. Now I realize that they already have a union, and that theyâ??ve just always been on strike. Iâ??m re-writing this because my last one made me look like a douchebag. Maybe I should just have someone else write it. Someone who isnâ??t a douchebag. Or perhaps this is the place that douchebags go to meet other douchebags. Maybe thatâ??s what the RNC was in town for.

I was born and at some point i will die, everything in between is what makes life interesting.

I've always been a little bad at summarizing myself. I think many people are, and that is why you'll often see very similar descriptions; such as "My friends think I'm awesome," "Appearances can be deceiving," and "Those who once knew the real me are dead now"... ok, that one I made up.

So This is as best a summary as I can produce at this point:

1)My space has essentials in it; of course, but also a handful of pieces that I could not pass up due either an artistic quality, sentimental value or a quirky humor- not necessarily in that order.

This reflects my current mindset. The things that are needed for survival are obviously present, but the parts that make me who I am are the accents of the artist, the sentimental and the quirky.

2)I have a tendency to wax philosophic after a few drinks. After several I'll wax just about anything.

I like talking about awkwardness. Perhaps that is due to a hidden desire to talk about things that I am good at. I am pretty good at awkward. On a good day I am a fascinating maze of contradictions. An actress who prefers being in the woods, the arty type turned science nerd, introverted extrovert, fancy schmancy cook who still secretly likes boxed mac n cheese, a sometimes wimp who really likes punching things. On a less good day I can have a terrible time trying to make decisions.
I really like to know how things work, and really just things in general.

Well, Iâ??ve decided to update this profile once again. I figure that 8.5 months is long enough for a profile to stand before it gets updated, yes? But each update begs the question: what do I want to say?

I shall say that I am a very laid-back person (for the most part). If you are okay with who you are, then I'm okay with it too. Ci or Trans, monogamous or poly, geek or jock, it doesnâ??t really matter. The most important thing is that you are being yourself, and if it was meant to be, then so be it. If it's not, then such is life. Or as Metallica puts it, "if you can understand the me, then I can understand the you."

Iâ??m a sex-positive person. That does not mean that I will sleep with anything that moves, nor does not mean that I will be into every kink and sexual act that there is. I know what I like, and I like to think that you know what you like. What being a sex-positive person means to me, as I find is best said in the book The Ethical Slut, is that â??sex is nice and pleasure is good for you.â?? And just to be clear, there are certain friends with whom I have and possibly will share sexual encounters with. I love and respect them, and they love and respect me.

Though I am very laid-back, I rarely drink (I cannot remember the last time I had an alcoholic beverage), I donâ??t use tobacco (I donâ??t like the smell or the effects), and I do not have time for drugs (illegal and misused/abused pharmaceuticals; they serve no purpose in my life except to make me miss the way friends used to be and the inhalants smell bad) in my life. Also, I donâ??t have time for those who are over-zealous in any ideology. No one ideology is better than another. Please keep that in mind.

I've always been a pretty positive person, and recently I've been debating the usefulness of this point of view. After all, hope is the first step on the road to disappointment, if you're expecting the worst, usually you'll be pleasantly surprised, and if not, at least you're prepared.

I'm an actor in the Twin Cities just trying to get by on what I have. I have recently began working with a theater company called Urban Samurai Productions (www.urbansamurai.org). It is crazy how much is around town, as always it's all about making time for it. And so much to do and so very little time.

Iâ??m the sarcastic laid back kind of guy. Unlike 95% of the profiles I read on here I am not a polyamorous vegan that rides a Schwinn everywhere I go while listening only to local bands. I donâ??t even own a Schwinn right now, not that I would be against owning one in the future. I still see the value in an automobile.

I recently graduated in illustration, though I presently work in a sign shop. Iâ??ve also started to do some freelance graphic design work over the past couple years. As I establish myself in the artistic community, I wouldnâ??t mind doing volunteer work at artistic events/ causes. So if you know of anything peachy, let me know.

My imagination does still tend to run wild. Iâ??m getting more and more into studying astrophysics and spirituality. Attempting to figure out how I can relate that to my work and life in general.

I used to live in South Bend, IN. Due to a fortunate set of circumstances concerning a piece of teak, a Geo Storm, and long years of filial animosity, I'm now living in South Minneapolis.
